Privacy Policy

The short version

TidyCSV runs entirely in your web browser. When you open or paste a CSV, it is parsed and cleaned on your own device. Your files are never uploaded to any server, and nobody else — including us — can see their contents.

What happens to your file (no upload)

All parsing, de-duplication, trimming and exporting happens locally in the browser tab while you use the tool. Your CSV and the cleaned file it produces stay on your device. When you close or reload the page, that working data is gone. No file content is ever transmitted to us, stored on a server, or written to any database.

You can verify this yourself: open your browser’s developer tools, watch the Network panel, and clean a file — you will see no request carrying your file’s contents.

We are not a data processor for your CSV data

Because your CSV is processed only on your device and never reaches our infrastructure, TidyCSV does not collect, receive, store, or process the personal data your CSV may contain (such as customer names or email addresses). For that data, you remain the controller; TidyCSV does not act as a data processor, since the data never leaves your device.

No ads, no third-party tracking

This site currently shows no advertising and uses no third-party tracking analytics. We use only Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookie-free and does not track or fingerprint individuals. We set no non-essential cookies. All processing happens locally in your browser and your files are never uploaded.

Your GDPR / privacy rights

Where applicable law (including the GDPR and UK GDPR) gives you rights over personal data — such as access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and data portability — you may exercise them by contacting us. Because we hold no account data and never receive the contents of your CSV files, we do not hold personal data about you, so for most of these rights there is no corresponding data on our side.
