Best-effort cleaning

TidyCSV cleans CSV files automatically on a best-effort basis. Delimiter detection, de-duplication, empty-row removal, trimming and column standardization work for the vast majority of well-formed CSV files, but no automated tool can correctly interpret every possible file shape or every malformed export.

Always review before you rely on the output

Before using a cleaned file, review the before/after counts and the preview that TidyCSV shows you. You are responsible for confirming the result is correct for your purpose — especially for financial, legal, or compliance-sensitive data.

Keep your original file. TidyCSV never modifies your source file; it produces a new download, so you can always re-run with different rules.

TidyCSV is a data-tidying utility, not a source of legal, financial, tax, or compliance advice. Decisions you make based on cleaned data are your own responsibility.

Refunds (where Pro is purchased)
